Do You Know Who You Are?

Hebrews 1:2-3

³He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. (Amplified Bible)

WOW! The richness and fullness of God’s intent when creating us reaches far beyond what our eyes have seen or our minds can conceive. From the very beginning, God himself said “Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority.”(Amplified Bible)

We are made in the image and likeness of God.

If you are anything like me, most of the obstacles between you and where you are supposed to be in God lie not in lack of aptitude, desire or capability. No, when you truly think about it, the hindrance lies in the fact that sometimes you simply forget who you are.

Romans 8:29 says that you have been “predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son” (NKJV). What’s that image? (See above) Simply put, through Jesus, we are earthly expressions of who God is.

Everything that is God has been deposited on the inside of us. You, yes you, were created in His image, and by your rightful nature through Christ, are commanded to have full authority, to dominate and are blessed to “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man].” Genesis 1:26-28.

Prayer:

Father, help us see who we are. Remind us of who you’ve created us to be and give us power to allow the Holy Spirit to fill the gap. Set a guard over our mouths and over our hearts, that we might not speak things or think things that are contrary to that which is your truth about us. Help us have a God-esteem that determines the way we handle ourselves and the way we allow ourselves to be handled. We are yours and we know you love us. Thank you for loving us. In Jesus name, Amen.
